It’s the Christmas season again. This season is my favorite time of the year. I love baking and drinking hot chocolate with my kids and watching Christmas movies. This is a recipe I found years ago that I really enjoy making this time of the year. It is made with white chocolate rather than dark or milk chocolate.
Hot White Chocolate |
3 cups whole milk (I use whole or 2% milk)
8 oz. white chocolate chips
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
In a medium saucepan, heat milk over medium-high heat, whisking frequently, for 5 minutes or until heated through. Pour in chocolate chips. Whisk until chips are melted. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract. Serve with whipped cream, marshmallows, or a candy cane.
My family loves this hot chocolate. My husband occasionally says it is too sweet for him, but I say, “If it ain’t sweet, it ain’t southern!” All joking aside, try the recipe as it is first. If it is too sweet for you, cut down some on the chocolate chips. I have also made this recipe with milk chocolate chips. I think I used 6 oz. of milk chocolate chips instead of 8 oz.
I hope this season find you snuggled up with a hot cup of chocolate and warmed with the love of family and friends. God bless you all!
