If you know my daughter, Lauren, she is constantly singing or talking or maybe even alternating between the two. One of her favorite songs to sing is the Misty Mountains song from the movie The Hobbit, An Unexpected Journey. Sometimes I even join along and sing it with her which she really enjoys.
Every time she sings it, even though I know it is sung in a Hobbit hole in the middle of the shire, I can’t help but feel the familiar sound of an Irish tune. So, I had an idea, and she was so excited. The idea was to recreate the scene from the movie and take a video of us singing a duet. We contemplated wearing beards and looking forlorn, but instead decided to be ourselves and have fun.
So, here it is, but don’t laugh! Life is too short to not take risks and have a little fun here and there, right? It is also just in time for St. Patrick’s day, and it would be remiss of me to not honor my dad today. St. Patrick’s Day was his birthday. He has been gone for five years, and I still miss him very much. This one is for him!
An Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Beautiful singing! Lauren is getting so big.
Thanks, Blair! I know. Time goes by way too fast!
