Sweet & Sour Meatballs

This is the kind of recipe I like with only 3 ingredients.  Mix the ingredients together, let it simmer in the crockpot for a few hours, and you are good to go.

Sweet & Sour Meatballs

2 lbs frozen meatballs (My favorite is Kirkland brand of Italian Style Meatballs sold at Costco.)
1 12 oz bottle chili sauce
1 14 oz can jellied cranberry sauce

Use a whisk to mash and combine the chili sauce and cranberry sauce together.  Place frozen meatballs in the crockpot set on low.  Pour cranberry mixture on top of the meatballs and stir to coat.  Cook on low in the crockpot for 4-6 hours or until meatballs are cooked through.  You can also do this on the stovetop by getting the meatballs and sauce up to temperature for a quick dinner without simmering it.  I do like simmering it better since the meatballs get more tender and are more flavorful when they are simmered on low in the sauce for several hours.  This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled for a potlock or a crowd.

This is one of my son’s favorite meals.  In fact tonight he said, “Are you making the awesome meatballs?”  However, my youngest daughter and him both are not big fans of fruit, and they have no idea they are eating cranberries and tomatoes!  It makes my heart happy to know a little secret.  I won’t tell if you won’t tell.
